    Hello Space Pilots!

Many of you noticed, a few days ago, a fleet in GeNeSIS² was shot (Paula’s Fleet). The problem with this fleet shot was that it used an old but always forbidden strategy that consisted of sending a lot of spy probes. The problem was that we did not set a limit on the number of probes that we no longer talk about rule conformity.
We would like to share some more information about the case and our consequences with this post today.

    To the case:
In addition to an intercept, a player sends an additional 60 spy actions to a player (in this case Paula, Fleet 1st place in the GeNeSIS²)
The purpose of these espionage actions was obviously not to get information about the fleet or defense so “the situation” but it tries to hide the attack or to confuse Paula with updates or simply to disable the pages that showed the attack so that Paula can’t react correctly.
In this case, Paula had 15 seconds to escape his fleet, which he did not manage due to this strategy.

What was this? A bug, server overload or what?
We decided to treat this as a targeted overload of a player system. It has not been in our rules that this is prohibited. However, we want to protect the computers of our community from today on.

    What are the consequences now?
We decided not to reverse the fight, but we decided to partially restore Paula and the attacker Krzys__23 fleets. In this case, a one-sided recovery seemed to us as not justified, because was (already said) a very old strategy.
We have a reasonable assumption (see above) that in this case, Paula did not actually have a chance to respond to this strategy as you would expect.
However, we have 100% confirmed that he was online and at the time had access attempts at SpaceInvasion.

The team felt and still feels this is a “no-skill” strategy. In our mind, sending nearly 100 spy probes is not a proofed skill or a real strategy. We often have discussions with the community about strategies that is "new" in the game, or which are becoming more modern again, and others like the Vacation Stealth Bomber attack are not a good strategy in our eyes either, but here is timing and preparation asked and can not be provoked by anyone with a hounded clicks.

We have now implemented the following change in the game:

    • it is now only possible to fly 5 spy or transport flights to one player at the same time per player

Furthermore, we will include the following rule in our rules:

    Overloading systems of other players:
It is prohibited, in consultation with other players or alone, to interfere with other players' systems.

    • These actions can be:

      • sending too many attacks, spies, or other actions to a single player. If we see more than 25 actions being sent by a group of players, or alone, we reserve the right to take action against this.
      • Note: you do not run the risk of spying on someone unless you use too many slots. If you show up with 1 spy probe in this mass construct, we do not assume you're involved. However, if you send several espionage actions at a time such an action is done, it may happen that the team looks at you as involved!

We see this regulation as a necessity to protect even worse systems. SpaceInvasion continues to evolve and new features such as chat, new layouts, or changes to the UI (such as the new planet selection and astro shot information on the Command Center) are increasingly challenging your system. Therefore, it can come in other places just to these problems of representation that the browser is simply overwhelmed, in weaker and especially older systems, which previously had no problems with the game.

We wish you a lot of fun!

    Best regards
    Your SpaceInvasion Team
