Attacks with catapults on a castle with walls give in the battle simulator a completely different result than in real fights

No, it has nothing to do with the luckfactor. In simulator the catapults can demolish a wall. In real attacks they do no damage to the walls

The battle simulator works correctly.
Try again in simulator but do set the wall level to "100" and not "0100"
A lot more catapults are needed and yes there is an additional luck factor
but a walkthrough is needed for a day or so in battle simulator to find lucky gaps
